From the moment light passes through the lens, the EOS 5D Mark IV captures every nuance, every colour, every detail

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

The EOS 5D Mark IV is equipped with a full-frame CMOS sensor boasting of a 30.4-megapixel image resolution, ensuring detailed depictions and beautiful tones that will satisfy professional photographers, particularly in landscape and wedding photography. Of all 61-points, all are f/8-sensitive, and 41 points are capable of cross-type AF. Large Zone AF complements the subject tracking powers of EOS iTR AF. The resulting highly precise AF works with all lens types, ranging from large aperture lenses to super telephotos attached to teleconverters, to produce sharp and crisp photographs.

It is built around a new 30.4MP CMOS sensor and uses the Digic 6+ processor. The AF system is from the flagship 1D X Mark II and contains 61 AF points (41 of which are cross-type) with up to 24% expanded vertical coverage compared with the system in the Mark III. The center point is sensitive to -3EV in One Shot (AF-S) mode (in Live View the sensor is sensitive to -4EV with a fast lens).

4K video capture is a welcome addition to this camera and users can record in either 24 or 30p, albeit with a 1.64x crop. All footage is captured as Motion JPEG. Additionally, the camera allows for 4K Frame Grabs, effectively giving users 30 fps stills shooting with (Dual Pixel) AF. We’ve seen that the camera suffers from some rolling shutter, but it may still have some merit for capturing the decisive moment when 7fps just isn’t enough.

Full Frame Sensor-30.4 Megapexcel and

Digic 6+ Image Processor

The EOS 5D Mark IV camera has a full-frame, high-speed CMOS sensor that delivers beautiful images of weddings, wildlife, sports and more. Measuring approximately 36.0mm x 24.0mm, the same size and ratio as a 35mm film frame, it records approximately 30.1 Megapixels at normal ISOs of up to 32000. It also captures tremendous still and 4K video clips suitable for significant post-processing, retouching and cropping. This brilliant sensor adds Dual Pixel CMOS AF capabilities as well, enabling camera to focus quickly and accurately during live-view shooting, capturing the action as it unfolds. At light levels as low as EV -4, Dual Pixel CMOS AF enables continuous automatic AF and AF tracking at the pixel level in more places and more lighting situations, enhancing overall camera operation for sharp still images and smooth. The DIGIC 6+ image processor offers impressive performance within a native range of ISO 100-32000, which can be expanded to ISO 50-102400.

Dual Pixel COMS AF with Touch Panel Operation

Dual Pixel CMOS AF and Touch AF, the EOS 5D Mark IV camera delivers quick, smooth AF throughout 80% of the picture area for excellent subject tracking while shooting video. Used in conjunction with the camera’s touch screen, it’s easy to select the location and size of the AF frame, which can be especially useful when the subject is off center or for dramatic focus shifts.

Dual Pixel Raw File

The Cameras Dual Pixel CMOS AF system offer Dual Pixel Raw Files, which also offer advanced photographers significantly more parameters for post-production adjustment with Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software. DPRAW files processed in Digital Photo Professional can be adjusted with functions that include Image Micro-adjustment to help reduce blur and maximize sharpness in detail areas, Bokeh Shift for more pleasing soft focus areas and Ghosting Reduction to help minimize aberrations and flare.
